
Ali Khan Mahmudabad, Associate Professor at Ashoka University, was arrested by remarks he made about press briefings in Sindoor operation.
The arrest was based on complaints filed by Yogesh Jatheri, Secretary General of Bharatiya Janata (BJP) Yuva Morch in Haryana.

Professor and writer Delhi University and writer Apoorvanand said: “Police Haryan illegally arrested Dr. Ali Khan. He transported to Haryana from Delhi without a transition. Firms at 8 pm. Police arrived next morning at 7 am!”
The High Court in Delhi and the Supreme Court must intervene. He noted that check out the judgment of the Pravi Purkayastha Supreme Court.
What did Mahmudabad say?
The associate professor described the media briefings of Colonel Qureshi and the commander of the wing of Singh as “optics”. “Optics, however, must translate into reality on Earth, otherwise it is just hypocrisy,” PTI said.
Last week, the Singh wing commander of the Singh informed the media together with the Foreign Minister Vikram Misri and Colonel Sofia Qureshi about Sindoor surgery.
Haryana State Commission for Women sent notifications
Previously, Haryan State Commission for Women sent a notice that the panel had taken Suo Motu to get to know “public statements/notes” that Ali Khan Mahmudabad, or about 7 May “or about 7 May”.

Ali Khan Mahmudabad is a historian, political scientist and publicist. He also studied Arabic at the University of Damascus. He holds PhD and MPHil of the University of Cambridge and a university degree in history and political science at Amherst College.

In its statement, Ashoka University stated: “Comments of the faculty member on their personal pages of social media do not represent the university’s opinion. These statements were made separately in its individual capacity.”
“Ashka University and all members of the Ashoka community are proud of the Indian armed forces and clearly support them in their events to maintain national security. We stand in solidarity with the nation and our forces,” he said.
