Teachers’ Association of Keral Government Medical College (KGMCTA) demanded that there are long -term problems faced by the faculty at hospitals of government medical universities (MCH) across the state, without delay.
The Central Executive Committee of the KGMCTA (CEC), who recently met in Thrissur, discussed the fall of questions emphasized by Harris Chirackal, head of urology at Thiruvanantham Medical College Hospital.
The meeting declared solidarity with Dr. Harris and said that the problems he emphasized were common to all MCHS in the state.
KGMCTA also decided that if the government was not willing to solve shortcomings and basic equipment, doctors would have to reduce patient care services to the extent that limited sources would allow. The meeting decided to inform the government in writing.
Awaiting Review Review
Kgmcta pointed out that the government was still supposed to give a favorable response about anomalies in the revision of MCH’s remuneration. Also, arrears of the faculty remuneration from 2016 to 2020 remain unpaid. Also, payments of doctors on the cadre at the basic level, which has decreased, remains an unresolved problem. She also decided to intervene to immediate resolution of the delay related to the General Transfer process 2025.
The meeting demanded that doctors who have been moved to Wayanad and Kasaragod to ensure the approval of the National Medical Commission for the new MCHS are brought back.
If the government does not create sufficient positions of the faculty and non-fakults in these institutions and fulfill them, the functioning of other MCHS will also be influenced, Kgmcta emphasized.
CEC decided to formally inform the government that no new MCHS will start without creating corresponding human resources first.
The meeting was chaired by State President KGMCTA Dr. Rosenar Begum.
