The divisional bench headed by Judge Gr Swaminathan of Madurai from the Madras High Court on Monday ordered the High Court register to submit documents concerning the defending champion S. Vanchinathan accusing judge Swaminathan of Kasta.
The divisional bench of Justices Gr Swaminathan and K. Rajasekar said Mr. Vanchinathan gave interviews with YouTube channels accusing judges of caste bias. 24th July, when he appeared in court, refused to answer the question of whether he stood at his imputation, and instead was looking for a written questionnaire. He was issued a notice of preliminary and was ordered to appear on 28 July.
The court said that during the intervention weekend, a press conference was held and a statement was published on behalf of several judges who questioned the process received by the bench. “We must notice our dismay about how such interventions in the trial can be made. The Court stated that the declaration of the proceedings had nothing to do with the earlier complaint of Mr. Vanchinathan against the main judge against the judge, and stated that he issued the announcement only for the “persistent campaign conducted by Mr. Vanchinathan” in the social media.
“Until now, we have not begun against Vanchinathan any contemptful lawsuits. The fact that Vanchinathan slandered judge Swaminathan is over the dispute,” the court said. The bench said she wanted to follow the principles of natural justice before referring to the main judge. “Our intention was to close the matter whether Vanchnathan had indicated a change in heart. Mr. Vanchinathan said in his answer that he was the chief judge of the Madras High Court, who could call this matter. “We also have no doubt about this score,” the judges said, ordering the register to submit documents before the CJ for a suitable event.
