
After a dispute over the construction of a temple on a gram of Panchayat Land in the village of Garag in the Dharwad district and the ongoing tension in this matter, Dharwad Taluk Magistrate and Tahsildar DH Hugar in the village issued a ban in the center.
Mr. Hugar issued orders according to Section 163 BNS prohibiting the installation of Durgadevi Idol and from Monday afternoon to Wednesday evening eliminated any procession in the village.
The dispute is above the ground where the Durgadevi temple was built without receiving the required gram of Panchayat to which the country belongs.
The group that built the temple was planning a jatra on Monday and Tuesday, and to avoid any undesirable incident, the ban was clamped, sources said.
Meanwhile, on Monday, a deputy commissioner was a representative of the Commissioner to protest the removal of the statue of the BR Ambedkar in the village on Monday before the office deputy Commissioner on Monday demonstrations.
The statue was installed 19. September on the same gram soil Panchayat without any permission after the dispute for the construction of the temple escalated and the mediation efforts of officials failed.
The officials subsequently removed the statue.
