Police Nedumangad registered the case against an assistant to the sub-inspector (probably) in the case of alleged driving under the influence of alcohol, which led to the accident late on Tuesday.
Probably the wine, which is strapped to the Valiyamala police station, was driving a vehicle in an unwilling state. The couple was injured when the police officer’s car collided with their motorcycle at the Chullimanoor intersection. The injuries were rushing to the hospital where their condition remains stable.
An empty bottle of alcohol was found inside the car, the official sources said.
