Private schools ordered to submit audit reports, display fee details or face legal action

The School Education Department has directed all Regional Joint Directors of School Education (RJDs) and District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure strict compliance by unaided private schools on submission of mandatory records.

Schools have been directed to submit Annual Administration Reports (AARs) along with audited financial statements certified by a Chartered Accountant. Statements for the academic years 2023-24 and 2024-25 must be uploaded to the department’s official website by July 30.

The department has also directed all private unaided schools to display the fee structure for the academic year 2026-2027 on their notice boards and websites. Officials have been asked to immediately send show-cause notices to schools that have failed to submit required documents within the stipulated time or provide fee details.

Schools violating the guidelines will face legal action and officials have been directed to initiate proceedings against non-compliant institutions.
