
Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao warned private schools against refusal to admission to students selected for free education pursuant to Section 12 (1) (a). C) Children’s rights to free and compulsory education (RTE) Act.
The provisions of the Act order private schools without help to cancel 25% of seats in their institutions at the initial level for students belonging to the marginalized parts of the company.
In his statement, Mr. Srinivasa Rao ordered the school management to verify the submitted documents and confirmed the acceptance.
“Refusal without a valid reason will invite a cautious measure,” warned Mr. Srinivasa Rao, stating that these acceptance would be confirmed through registration specially assigned to other project coordinators (APC) Samagra Shiksha at the district level.
He said that in case of any questions the school management could turn to the relevant mandala officials or district education or regional joint directors.
Meanwhile, the deadline for completion of admission under the law was extended from 28 June to 2 July 2025.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the decision was taken in response to the requests of parents and officials.
The second phase of the lottery
In the second phase of the lottery, a total of 8 583 students were selected within the RTE quota.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the parents or guards of the students who were assigned should visit the relevant schools with the relevant verification documents and confirm the acceptance in July 2.

The department began the RTE adoption process on April 9 in accordance with the standard operational procedure (SOP) by the National Child Rights National Commission (NCPCR). The state of specific SOP was also developed and communicated to all Deos 18 April. In order to ensure effective monitoring and complaints, all districts were formed by committees for monitoring districts (DAMC).
A total of 9,568 private schools at RTE registered on the RTE portal from 19 to 30 April. The application for eligible students was open from 2 to 19 May. Out of a total of 37,427 applicants, the preferences of schools were decided.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao reported that in the first phase of the lottery, 23,118 students were assigned to schools and 15,541 confirmed and joined their relevant schools. He said that the remaining students did not confirm their connection for various reasons, they were again considered in the second phase.
The seats were assigned to 8,583 eligible students in schools located within 3 km from the residence of recipients in the second round of the lottery carried out on June 20.
Srinivasa Rao reported that the district reports for both phases were prepared and shared for transparency and public legacy, said the government was determined to ensure access to quality education for each qualified child according to the law of RTE.
