Prince Harry strongly denied the claim that he physically attacked his uncle, Prince Andrew, during a sharp confrontation of alleged comments on Meghan Markle more than ten years ago.
“I can confirm that Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical struggle, nor Prince Andrew had never made comments he allegedly made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry,” said the Duke spokesman for New York Post.
According to the report, the representative described the accusation as “gross inaccuracies, damaging and slander notes”.
Explosive claims in the upcoming book
The denial comes in response to the claim that was made in the upcoming book by royal author Andrew Lownie, called: The Ascension and Fall of the House of York, obtained by the Daily Mail.
According to Prince Harry, Prince Harry reportedly struck Prince Andrew during the “heated argument” after the other allegedly described Meghan Markle as “opportunist” as Harry’s back.
Lownie’s book claims that the confrontation has left Andrew with a “bloody nose” after “strikes were thrown”.
Timeline and context
The alleged incident allegedly appeared more than ten years ago, before the wedding of Harry and Meghan 2018. At that time Meghan Markle was still the best known for her role in television series.
Continuing Royal Rift
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were stolen from the royal family for more than five years, after their decision to retreat from royal duties and move to Montecito in California. Now they live there with their two children, Archie, 6 and Lilibet, 4.
The tight relationship of the couple with the monarchy remained the subject of the ongoing public and media interest, with frequent control of their interaction – or their lack – with other members of the royal family.
