Inside India’s clean session ahead of the T20 World Cup match against Namibia
“Playing in India in India is massive, the pressure is on India to be honest, home crowd advantage and also home ground advantage. To be honest, we’re going into it with nothing to lose. We’re going there to showcase our talent and ability, hopefully that will come on the day,” Loftie-Eaton was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.“We’ve just got to get our skills back given our day and we’ve done our homework, a lot of tactical talks. We’ve just got to back our skills on the day. T20 is a fun game, anything can happen.”The 24-year-old, who has appeared in 51 ODIs and 52 T20Is, said the sport is growing in Namibia.“It’s becoming a huge crowd choice. We had a game against South Africa at our newly inaugurated ground where 5,000 people came to watch and it was the first time.“It’s definitely growing in the right direction. So we’ve got to take that momentum forward and continue to play and become one of the biggest affiliates in the country.”Loftie-Eaton said Namibia were looking to achieve Test status in the future.“We have to set ourselves higher goals and higher standards. The win in South Africa definitely put us on the map, but we’ve been on the map for the last few years, we’ve had a pretty good consistent World Cup the last few years,” he said.In October 2025, Namibia defeated the South African side by four wickets in a T20I in Windhoek, with Loftie-Eaton as part of that team.“It’s just about taking it forward and getting better every day and every year and that’s something we want to achieve, becoming a Test nation and every player’s dream is to wear the white for your country.”
