President Murmu visits ‘Mahayana’ in Jaipur

President Droupadi Murmu on Friday (January 16, 2026) attended the fire altar ‘mahayagna’ of Lord Hanuman organized by Ramanand Mission at Nindar Housing Scheme near Harmada on the outskirts of Jaipur. The religious event has been going on since January 8 under the leadership of spiritual leader Rambhadracharya.

Mrs. Murmu chanted mantras, offered last oblations and prayed for peace, prosperity and well-being of the country and Rajasthan. Accompanied by Governor Haribhau Bagade and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Mrs. Murmu circumambulated the ‘yagnashala’ (ritual enclosure).

The President also attended Ram Katha at the venue. On this occasion she met and greeted Mr. Rambhadracharya. According to the organizing committee of Ramanand Mission, the objective of holding the mahayagna was to awaken spiritual consciousness in the society.

Mrs. Murmu was welcomed with traditional rituals and a large number of devotees were present. Mr Sharma said such events promote social harmony and spiritual awareness.

Earlier, Mr. Bagade, Mr. Sharma and Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa received Ms. Murma on her arrival by an Indian Air Force aircraft at the Sanganer Airport here.
