The reaction of Ruben Amorima this summer was ruthless this summer. Driftwood was cleaned, the checkbook was open.

All of this is supported by Bruno Fernandes, still a captain, creator and heart rhythm of United – the only player who constantly adds in the middle of chaos. Amorim’s attacking settings finally seem to have a clear plan that is less reliable on isolated moments of brilliance and more on the repeatable patterns of the game.
The middle field still feels thin
For all new teeth in front, United remains soft in the middle. Casemiro is still silent and sweeping, Mount wants to reappear and Fernandes works as hard as he creates. But with Christian Eriksen left, there is no natural anchor on Wednesday – no midfielder whose primary task is to hold the line when the ball is lost.
It is a dangerous mistake in the Premier League. United crossings last season were often chaotic, with the opponents found space between the center and defense too easily. Without proper presence, this gap could cancel a large part of good work that happens in the attack.
Defense will find his voice again
Ironically, the rear line – once United’s Weekly headache – shows signs of stability. Matthijs de ligt and Lisandro Martinez develop chemistry, Lena Yoro is a bedding, and Amorim’s structure begins to show on the pitch.
Then there’s Harry Maguire. A man who heard every insult and experienced every low light, quietly rebuilt his place in the group through permanent performances, air dominance and leadership. His return to a group of leaders has been changed by far to a statement of purpose for the once undressed captain.
If this defensive core remains fit and Maguire maintains its form, United could finally stop promoting goals in such soft, avoided moments that cost them expensive last season.
But then there is Andre Onana, a goalkeeper who is trying to prove his value in the Manchester United group every day. Although his back line gives him armor, it is its form that could get the last word.
Depth
One area still cloudy in uncertainty is depth. Alejandro Garnacho and Antony are both in limb – they train in Manchester, but watch potential movements away. Their talent is clear, but their commitment is controversial. In the league as steadfast as this, a bench without a full buy-in can leave the party poorly exposed when it hit an injury or suspension.
Can Manchester United turn the Revamp summer into a redemption period?
The attack is sharper, defense more stable, but the middle field hole and lack of security from the bench remain stubborn shadows. Amorim gave the team fresh instruments and a brighter structure. The hard part now proves that they can build something permanent.
This test begins immediately. On August 17, United has launched a Premier League campaign against Arsenal – a party that can reveal weaknesses as quickly as they punish mistakes. If Amorim’s reconstruction has to work, it must start to manifest against the best and there is no stricter early examination.
