A pregnant woman protested at the Ajith Singh Nagar police station on Tuesday, demanding that the authorities take steps to trace her missing husband after they failed to respond to her earlier complaint.
The complainant P. Likitha stated that her husband P. Gnana Pavan Kumar was missing for the past five months. She lodged a complaint with the police saying that her in-laws were behind her husband’s disappearance.
Assistant Commissioner of Police North Zone (AKT) K. Sravanthi Roy said Ms Likitha had not lodged any complaint against the “missing” Ajith Singh Nagar police. “If Ms. Likitha lodges a missing complaint against Mr. Pavan Kumar, we will immediately register a case and take action as per law,” Ms. Roy said.
“Though I lodged a complaint with the Ajith Singh Nagar police, no case was registered and no progress has been made so far,” claimed Ms Likitha, who is seven months pregnant. “After protesting outside the police station for some time, the police spoke to me and assured me that they would solve the case,” Likitha told The Hindu on Tuesday.
The couple married in 2020 and have a three-year-old boy.
