On Friday, the ancient ritual of mixing dry fruits and nuts, an integral part of the cake mixing ceremony, was held at Ekante’ Bliss, a unit of the IHCL SeleQtions group in Tirupati.
Under the guidance of Chef Vaibhav Bajaj, participants in aprons, gloves and Christmas hats excitedly mixed an assortment of raisins, blackcurrants, dried apricots, walnuts, cashews and aromatic spices such as cardamom, cinnamon and cloves.
The atmosphere was enlivened by specially adapted festive games for children.
General Manager Vineet Soni said the fruit soaked today will be transformed into delectable plum cakes by Christmas. “Historically, the tradition marked the arrival of the harvest and anticipation of the festive spirit,” he added.
Various treats such as plum pudding, tunnel bread, ginger cookies and crinkle brownies, in addition to the festival cupcakes, will be available for sale from December 7.
