Prasidh Krishna ruled out 3rd ODI as flat pitches, wet weather claim first victim
Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the 3rd ODI against West Indies. India Today has learned that the fast bowler, who was dropped from the 2nd ODI in Guwahati midway through the match, will not be available for the final ODI of the bilateral series.
Conditions have been tough for the fast bowlers in the ongoing ODI series. High humidity and bowling under the hot sun made life difficult for the players. The fast bowlers faced the brunt of the onslaught, with India’s Shubman Gill batting first in both matches.

Prasidh, who bowled his full quota of 10 overs in the first ODI, was dropped from the attack midway through the match in Guwahati. Prasidh had bowled three overs and conceded 45 runs till then.
India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak later informed the press that the pacer had picked up a niggle and would undergo a scan on Thursday 1 October. Sources told India Today that Prasidh strained his hamstring and was ruled out of the last ODI series.
Injuries to fast bowlers have been a concern of the Indians camp in recent months. Nitish Reddy was recently sidelined for a short time while Hardik Pandya has not played professional cricket since Indian Premier League 2026.
However, BCCI has not yet announced a replacement for Prasidh. In the absence of the pacer, Mohammed Siraj could fit in for the Indian team as a fallback option.
