Prasanna Kumar Acharya is the new CMD of NLCIL

Prasanna Kumar Acharya assumed office as the new Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Ltd on Thursday. (NLCIL). Prior to his new role, Mr. Acharya was the Director (Finance) of NLCIL.
According to a press release, Mr. Acharya has nearly three decades of experience in the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors. He has held key positions in organizations including GRIDCO, NTPC and Tata Power. He has contributed significantly to major infrastructure initiatives including Phase – II project of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).
During his tenure at NLCIL, Mr. Acharya led several digital transformation and governance reform initiatives, including ERP modernization, centralization of various financial functions, artificial intelligence systems and implementation of a supplier invoice management system.
Mr. Acharya has also been instrumental in managing joint ventures with various state-owned utilities and supporting NLCIL’s ambitious growth plan, which envisages achieving more than 20 GW of power generation capacity and more than 100 MTPA of mining capacity by 2030, while moving towards its vision of becoming a Maharatna enterprise.
