Pranit More: Sejal Pawar Unfollows Everyone On Instagram; Medical student says: ‘I’m not here to justify…’ | Today’s news
Days after an audience member at stand-up comedian Pranit More’s show drew flak for allegedly making a misogynistic remark, another contestant came under fire for comments made during a separate show hosted by the Bigg Boss season 19 finalist.
The participant, identified as Sejal Pawar, who describes herself as a final year MBBS student, said during the interaction that medical students sometimes mocked the private parts of male corpses. The statements drew criticism on social media.

The controversy follows the backlash against 23-year-old Himanshu Jangra. He retracted the criticism online after he said he was spending ₹370 for a date chicken biryani and expected a “return” on that investment.
Both participants’ comments were met with strong backlash on social media.
Pawar’s Instagram bio says she is affiliated with King Edward Medical College, Mumbai. It is a government medical college officially funded and operated by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM).
She noted that medical students would compare the ‘sizes’ of male corpses in the hospital. However, she left the statement unfinished and laughed halfway through. Either way, the exchange sparked controversy.
Pranit More then described the kinds of jokes one might tell in such situations. He expressed what Sejal did not.

“Now we’re going to be afraid to donate our bodies,” More joked. He added that people would be afraid that Sejal would make fun of them.
After a controversy erupted on social media, Sejal Pawar apparently made her Instagram profile private.
Sejal Pawar Instagram earnings
Screenshots from earlier show that her profile is verified. She had 103 posts and 244k followers and followed 676 accounts.
Her CV identified her as an MBBS student at KEM Hospital, Mumbai. It also had a community called “Sejal’s squad” with 6.4 thousand members. This appears to be an Instagram subscription that is only available to paying members.
Assuming a modest ₹49/month, which is a common Indian price point, it will probably earn ₹ 3,13,600 per month. However, the Apple App Store and Google Play saw a decrease of 30% ( ₹93,900 in this case. So Sejal’s earnings can be estimated to be more than more ₹2,19,100).

However, when we visited her profile today, her posts had dropped to just 2. Her followers had dropped slightly to 242k. Currently following 0 accounts.
Her profile picture, which was visible earlier, has been removed. Blue check verification is no longer visible. Her resume was scrubbed.
The comparison suggests that she deleted almost all of her posts and deleted her bio after the controversy. Unfollowing everyone and removing her photo may be a deliberate effort to minimize her digital footprint.
Sejal Pawar apologizes
Sejal Pawar has apparently apologized for his comments. Since this is a private account, it appears to only be visible to followers. However, the video recording of the apology went viral on social media.
“I wanted to be honest about a clip from a recent video that was doing the rounds. Looking back, I completely understand why people were upset by what I said. This is a sensitive topic and my comments came out in a way they shouldn’t have,” Pawar said.
“While no disrespect was ever intended, I recognize that impact matters more than intent. I’m not here to justify what was said or explain it away. I take responsibility for it. Looking back, I can see how my words could have been interpreted differently than I intended!” she said.
“It was a learning experience for me as a student and it made me think about how I communicate, especially when I talk about topics that deserve more thought and sensitivity,” she added.
