Praful Hinge finally made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut against Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday after being axed at the last minute in the previous match despite being named in the coin toss by captain Ishan Kishan. On 11 April at Mullanpur, Hinge was named in the playing eleven, replacing Jaydev Unadkat.
“Salil comes in place of Livingstone and Praful Hinge, it’s his debut game, in place of Jaydev Unadkat,” Kishan said at the toss. However, the Vidarbha pacer never took the field as Sunrisers Hyderabad opted for Unadkat, who shared the new ball after coming on as an Impact sub for Travis Head.

On Monday, Hinge was again named in the playing eleven, replacing Unadkat from the previous game. “We have two changes from the last game, (Praful) Hinge comes in (and veteran Jaydev Unadkat misses out, Harshal Patel is among the impact players),” Kishan said after losing the toss to Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag.
Praful Hinge has achieved a massive record
Hinge grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he became the first ever player in IPL history to take three wickets in the first over of an innings. There have been 32 occasions when a bowler has bagged two wickets in the first innings of the IPL. Hinge released Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Dhruv Jurel.

Who won the toss during SRH vs RR?
Meanwhile, Parag won the toss and decided to bowl first in Hyderabad. Rajasthan Royals are sitting on top of the IPL 2026 points table with 8 points from four matches. During the toss, Parag said they made two changes with South African batsman Lhuan Dre Pretorious making his debut.
“We’ll be bowling first. New wicket for us, it’s been used for the first time this season too. So hopefully there’s a bit of stickiness at the start. We’ve got two changes. Brijesh (Sharma) is out and Tushar Deshpande is in. Hetty (Shimron Heymyer) will be rested and Pretorius will make his debut,” Pretorius told Assatermese.
How have SRH and RR fared so far?
Ishan Kishan-led Sunrisers Hyderabad, who lost their previous match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), will be eyeing their second win of the season after losing three of their four matches so far. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s only win in IPL 2026 came against Kolkata Knight Riders.
