
The legendary Indian hockey player PR Sreejesh and Cricter R Ashwin received their Padma prizes from President Murm in Rashtrapati Bhavan in Nový Delhi on Monday 28th April. The recipients of civilian awards participated in the ceremony with stars, who was also decorated with Prime Minister Narendra Modim.
The Sreejesh was among 19 recipients of Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian price in India. Hockey big, which left sport last year, is considered one of the most decorated players in Indian hockey history. Sreejesh played a key role in the Indian Olympic medals in Indian hockey in men’s hockey, which led from the front at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021 and during his final performance at Paris games last year almost unstoppable.
Meantime, R Ashwin was awarded the Padma Shri Award AwardTogether with former football player Im Vijayan. Palalympian Hardinder Singh, who introduced gold on the Paris Paralympic Paralympic Paralympic Paris, was also awarded Padma Shri, as well as coach Para-Athletics Satyapal Singh. The award was announced on January 25, the eve of the Republic of the Republic.
Sreejesh nails traditional garment
Sreejesh was seen on himself a traditional silk shirt and mundu when he went up to receive the prize from the President. The Sreseeejesh family was in Rashtrapati Bhavan and encouraged hockey.
Rshwin, on the other hand, dressed in a naval blue two -piece suit, welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Interior Minister Amit Shah before he came out to win the Padma Shri Award by President Murm.
The Padma award, among the most prestigious civilian awards in India, is handed over in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. These awards recognize, among other things, excellent contributions across various disciplines such as art, social services, public affairs, science and technology, trade, medicine and literature. As for the hierarchy, Padma Shri is included as the fourth highest civil price in India after Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.
Ashwin, one of the largest Indian spinners that played the game, left the international cricket last year after the Indian boxing test against Australia on Melbourne Cricket Ground. Ashwin is currently with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and is attended by Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
