
Minister of energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar announced on Sunday that the Power tariff will be reduced by 13 Paise per unit after the AP directive control committee for electricity (Aperc). The Commission has ordered discom to pay fees for the “true” Crore 924 Crore to retail consumers that will be modified in monthly accounts from November.
Mr. Ravi Kumar said that the decrease in the tariff would alleviate the household burden and expressed the certainty that more relief would follow. He scored the main minister N. Chandrababa Naid for allowing his return and quoting his huge experience in solving the energy sector. He focused on the side of the YSR (YSRCP) congress and claimed that the previous government had increased tariffs nine times. He remembered that Andhra Pradesh was in 2019 Power-Surplus, but the tools later slipped into the deficit. Despite adequate capacity in the thermal power plant Dr. Narla Tatarao (NTTPS) and Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station (SDSTPS) relying on expensive energy purchases outside the state.
The Minister also claimed that the cancellation of the purchase of renewable energy purchase under the YSRCP rule cost around 9,000 crore. On the other hand, he said that the TDP government strengthened two thermal stations and reduced the dependence on short -term energy purchases from 17% to 6.8%, sources of power from Rajasthan and Haryan only if necessary.
