
The Union Finance Ministry has approved an additional borrowing facility worth ₹ 2,924 crore for Kerala in view of the power sector reforms undertaken by the state, Electricity Minister K Krishnankutty said on Monday. Last week, the Center approved another borrowing facility worth ₹ 2,924 crore related to power sector reforms.
Subsequently, the state submitted more documents to the Center regarding the reforms, which led to the final decision, Mr. Krishnankutty said. The Department of Expenditure of the Union Finance Ministry has issued a notification in this regard, he said. Thus, the state got approval for another loan of ₹ 5848 crore in connection with reforms in the power sector.
