
Bengaluru city has been facing mega power outages for the past two days. The power outage occurred on Friday, the third day. Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has issued notice of power interruption in several areas in view of maintenance work.
The key areas that will be affected today, January 23, are:
Chikkanayaka-Nahalli, Huliyaru, Katrikehal, Handanakere and Thimmanahalli
The power cut on Friday follows major blackouts in Bengaluru, Talukas and other villages that lasted for up to nine hours. BESCOM’s planned temporary outages affected Nandigudi, Vasana, Ingalagondi, Hulaginahole, Jerehole, Marahalli, GT Katte, Govina Halu, Noosikondi, Ukkadagatri, Ramagiri, Thuppadahalli, Singenahalli, Talikatte, Hanumali, Dognane, Kalomhalli, Gaumanapur, Dumhalli, Dummipur Kadur, Chikkandavadi, Dodda Yenlegare, Belaguli and Mattighatta. substation and surroundings.
Surya Ghar Yojana
BESCOM has appealed to Bengaluru residents to install rooftop solar panels through Surya Ghar Yojana and avail attractive subsidies
In a post on X, the Electricity Company said, “Install rooftop solar units and avail attractive subsidies through Surya Ghar Yojana.” He added, “Register for Suryaghar Yojana through this link and call BESCOM Solar Helpline number 080-22340816.”
How to apply for a rooftop solar panel
Step 1: Enter the mobile number and verify the same using OTP. After successful OTP verification, enter information like name, state, district and fill other details. Then verify the email ID with OTP and ‘save’ the profile.
Step 2: Select “Yes” in the vendor selection pop-up window if you want your vendor to complete the application for you, otherwise click “No”.
Step 3: Select “Apply for Solar Rooftop” and select State, District, Discom, Consumer Number and click “Load Details” to automatically fill the details. Click Next to fill out and send the application.
Step 4: After getting the feasibility approval, select the supplier and submit the bank details to get the subsidy.
Step 5: After installing the solar panels, the dealer submits the installation details to the customer for verification and DISCOM.
Step 6: The DISCOM will verify the details before the consumer can claim the subsidy and submit it to the NPIA.
