The Government General Hospital, Cuddalore, experienced a power cut between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Saturday (March 21, 2026) night, causing considerable inconvenience to patients and their attendants.
According to official sources, the power outage affected the intensive care unit and the main ward. Lack of lights and ventilators affected elderly patients and women. However, patients on ventilator support were immediately secured.
Officials said the outage occurred due to damaged power lines near the ICU. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation was immediately informed and power was restored around 8:00 pm
