Post against CJI: KPCC president says responsible person has been dropped

After a post against Chief Justice of India Surya Kant appeared on the official account ‘X’, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Monday said it has removed the person responsible and will conduct an inquiry into the incident.

The post has since been taken down.

KPCC President Sunny Joseph said that the person responsible for the inappropriate post against the CJI has been removed from the post. The post was uploaded without the knowledge or consent of KPCC management.

The Congress party had no difference of opinion on the impartiality of the judiciary, Mr. Joseph said. He added that social media posts expressing views contrary to this position do not reflect the position of KPCC management.

The message on ‘X’ was posted apparently in response to Mr. Surya Kant’s rejection of a request by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and leaders of the INDIA bloc for a meeting.
