POSH Orientation organized for District Officers in Visakhapatnam

An orientation program on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, 2013 for district-level permanent government officials was held at the Collectorate conference hall in Visakhapatnam on Monday. The program was organized under the coordination of District Women, Child Welfare and Empowerment Officer KV Ramalakshmi.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness of legal provisions relating to the prevention, prohibition and remedy of sexual harassment in the workplace and to strengthen the roles and responsibilities of officials across ministries.

Hema Yadavalli, Senior Vice President, FICCI FLO was the keynote speaker. She elaborated on the key provisions of the law, preventive measures, grievance mechanisms and the employer’s obligations, emphasizing that every employee has a duty to promote mutual respect, equality and a safe working environment.

Officials from various ministries actively participated in the discussion. The program ended with a collective commitment to ensure safe, dignified and non-harassment workplaces in all government offices and institutions.
