The West Godavari district has been banned from the Vinayaka idols made of plaster Paris (POP) and the use of DJ audio systems during Vinayaka Claviti celebrations.
At a joint inspection meeting held on Wednesday, the Superintendent Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, District Collector Ch. The Nagaians ordered officials to ensure that only clay idols were installed on pandals.
The collector announced that the Pandals will be provided with one window. She stressed that only devoted songs would be able to play on pandals to maintain a spiritual atmosphere.
Mr. Nayeem Asmi urged the organizers of the Pandals to immerse the idols only at the designated places in the Godavari and channels. He warned against a strict action against organizers who violate instructions or play indecent music.
