Poll battle between the rich

It will be an electoral battle between the rich for the Legislative Council. Janata Dal (Secular) candidate Govindaraju emerged as the richest candidate in the fray for seven Legislative Council seats with total assets of ₹173.69 crore, including movable assets worth ₹58.29 crore. He declared liabilities of ₹30.35 crore. His rival Vinay Karthik, grandson of late Congress leader Sahukar Chennaiah, declared assets worth ₹106.96 crore, including movable property worth ₹49.95 crore. It has liabilities of ₹ 49.05 crore.

Congress candidate PV Mohan declared assets worth ₹ 75.50 lakh, including movable property worth ₹ 15.50 lakh and declared liabilities of ₹ 13 lakh.

BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate M Nagaraja declared assets worth ₹15.89 crore, including movable assets worth ₹4.61 crore and liabilities of ₹3.25 crore.
