Last month Lucknow was shaken. Uttar Pradesh, under the main minister (cm) Yogi Adityanath, made unthinkable. Adityanath suspended his boy with a blue -eyed, Indian administrative service officer (IAS) Abhishek Prakash, allegedly demanded a commission from an entrepreneur.
Prakash was no bureaucrat. As the CEO of Invest Up, the “Agency for Support and Make A Security Investment by the State Government”, it was a brief transforming the state “to the most advantageous investment destination in India, and therefore enables new growth trajectories to form a new India vision”.

Instead, Prakash now faces a strict probe of alertness by the established state government.
In 18 years in Uttar Pradesh, this former IIT Rocee engineer was a district judge (DM) Aligarh, Hamirpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Lucknow. Under Yogi was a man who watched. When he realized his potential, CM made him the CEO of Invest Up.
So what went wrong? The initiates say that Prakashov’s vomiting was when he asked for a 5 % commission through a mediator for the solar energy project, which was approved by the State Government evaluation committee. The production, investor Biswajit Dutta from Sael Solar P6 Limited directly complained about cm.
The preliminary vigilation probe suggests that an officer who owns hundreds of soil acres also has assets worth several hundred crores.
“This step was widely considered to be re -confirming the Adityanath commitment to rooting corruption, the cornerstone of its management agenda,” says 420.in, a digital platform that includes a group of journalists, scientists and other experts. They describe themselves as “a team of digital enthusiasts who like to watch and decode the underground world of digital crimes”.
Bureaucrats under Yogi’s scanner on UP
Prakash is just one name. Feisty Yogi Adityanath put several higher bureaucrats under the scanner. This latest event brings the total number of IAS officers suspended to graft fees during the two term ADITITHATH to 12, “underlines the policy of the zero tolerance of the state for incorrect introduction,” the state government official said.

Since joining eight years ago, UP CM has supervised 11 other Officers IAS during his first and second periods. While several of these officers were renewed after the investigation, the government claims that its quick actions have sent a clear message: no one is above the law.
List of suspended IAS officers
The list of IAS officers suspended under the Adithu administration includes a number of accusations, from financial discrepancies to abuse of power. Include:
-Ganashyam Singh, dose officer in 2014, which was suspended on November 13, 2024 for delaying the processes of soil measurement in Lakhimpur Kheri, a case that attracted significant local anger.
-Devi Sharan Upiphyay, Batch in 2012, faced a similar punishment in July 2024 for arbitrary renewal of rental for 35 land in Aligarch and also served as a court member of the Council.
-TK Shibu, was suspended in March 2022, while serving as DM Sonbhadra.
-Sunil Kumar Verma, who faced an action for alleged corruption and abuse of authority as DM Auraiya.
-Devendra Kumar Pandey, a dose in 2011, was suspended as a DM unnao for financial discrepancies in the award of public procurement in the Primary Education Department.
-AMAR NATH UPAPHYAY, also from the 2011 dose, was suspended as DM Maharajganj for alleged poor management of funds assigned to cow protection centers.
-Kumar prashant, batch in 2010, faced similar sanctions in June 2018 as DM Fatehpur for inconsistencies in government awarding public contracts for wheat
-Jitendra Bahadur Singh was suspended in June 2018 as Gonda’s DM for similar accusations related to bad grain management.
-Kedar Nath Singh suffered the same fate when he served in the tourist department.

The “zero tolerance” policy of Adityanath has a sharp polarized. Supporters claim that they have instilled a sense of responsibility between bureaucrats and supported cleaner administration.
Critics, however, point out that the rapid pace of suspension could suppress the initiative between officers. When the state navigates this hard -to -reach balance, it remains to ensure that the investigation is fair, transparent and without political influence, no average performance.
Yogi’s clean picture
According to the analyst and journalist Anshuman Shukl, while CM Yogi has a clean image, the same cannot be said of some other bigwigs in the party and government.
“How is it that Abhishek Prakash was appointed CEO of Invest Up when he was charged with 83 -page reports of the State Government Board in August 2024”?
This is really a question that many ask. In the murky UP policy, such shops are common. The case of Abhisheka Prakasha is a case that could be the tip of the iceberg.
