Political parties condole deaths due to ammonia leak at seafood processing unit in Tiruvallur district
Leaders of various political parties, including AIADMK, BJP and AMMK, expressed shock and condolence over the death of migrant workers in an ammonia leak at a seafood processing unit in Tiruvallur district on Sunday. They urged the TVK-led government to ensure the safety of people by conducting regular inspections in industrial units.
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami urged the state government to provide proper medical care to those affected by the incident. He further urged the government to ensure compliance of safety guidelines in industrial units through regular inspections.
BJP state unit president Nainar Nagenthran called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to regularly inspect industrial units to ensure the safety of workers. He also urged the state government to extend proper medical care to those affected by the incident.
AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran urged the state government to check whether safety guidelines are being followed in industrial units. Mr. Dhinakaran expressed shock at the deaths in the incident and wished a speedy recovery to those hospitalized due to the spill.
