The Belagavi Police set certain conditions for the ganesh mandala, which must be met for installing idols and implementation of arrival processions and immersion.
These conditions are based on directives issued by the Supreme Court and other courts, existing laws and rules and regulations for maintaining law and order, according to officials.
The main conditions include Disco jockey music systems, strict adherence to noise levels and organizing procession to avoid disturbing traffic. The arrival procession must be completed between 23 August and 27 August.
During the festival time, an event will be held against provocative contributions on social media or banners. At night will be allowed stalls with food, but after 22 hours there will be no loud music
Residents can call 112 to inform about any inconvenience caused by loud music after 22:00 banners or flags should only be hosted on private ownership. Everything on public property will be removed.
Mandals should take steps to ensure that there is free access to ambulances and fire and standby vehicles during installation of idols. All pandas in public places should leave space for the movement of vehicles and no public road should be blocked. The use of flip flops is forbidden 6 September, because there will be about one lakhi people on the Belagavi streets.
The mandala is governed by accompanying routes and other traffic measures. The mandals should register their names and contact details of at least five volunteers with the local police.
Officials said NWKRTC will provide late night buses for the general public, which will take part in the festival in the city. Police units will perform inspections of alcohol, narcotics and weapons during the festival.
