
On Friday (June 13, 2025), Shibina Lal, a native of Mankav, escaped with a cash bag of 40 £ Lakh from a bank employee in Pantherankav in Kozhikode, Kerala, on June 11 was detained after a flash of an inspection in one of his suspicious shelters in Tharshipalam in Malappuram.
Police sources said that the effort to restore stolen money from him. He was suspected of obtaining external support for theft that would be further investigated on the basis of various digital evidence, they said.
According to the police, the accused man stated with cash, which was allegedly brought to a private bank in Pantheerankava after his request to transfer a golden loan from there to a small ESAF bank. He allegedly convinced ESAF employees that he had gold worth 51 GBP Lakh with a private bank and needed £ 40 lakh to close it and transfer gold to a new bank, the police said.
The man allegedly fled from the scene on the scooter as soon as he seized the bags containing money.
According to police sources, he allegedly secured a bag from an employee named Aravind, which reached the premises of a private bank along with seven other bank employees to help him get the promised gold and move it to ESAF. In the investigation it was found that the man had cooked a story about the promised gold.
