The President of the Congress Committee of Keral Pradesh (KPCC) Sunny Joseph strongly condemned Wadakkancherry Police for the production of arrested students of Kereral students (KSU) in a court with black clothing covering their faces and hands, and described it “disadvantageous for civilized society and completely disruption”.
On Saturday after visiting KSU leaders Ganesh Attur, Al Amen and Aslam, who were currently in custody of Viyyur’s prison and President KSU and others, took place at the KSU police station (M)).
“Even the court questioned the inhuman and illegal behavior of the Wadakkancherry police and issued a notice of the cause of the clerk (sho). The home department must explain this violation of police standards,” Joseph said.
He said that illegal and vindictive use of police forces against political opponents was part of the strategy of Pinarayi government, and Congress would question it inside and outside the assembly.
Mr. Joseph added that such continuous excesses of the police are “shame of democracy” and warned that the congress would not allow the state government to arrange the police for guerrilla endings.
Meanwhile, the head of the Congress leader MM Hassan called on the Indian Communist Party (CPI) to join Congress and resist what the “police terror of Pinarayi” said.
“Even the CPI delegates at their own state conference were treated with suspicion and subjected to metal detector checks. It shows that the Chief Minister of Pinarayi Vijayan does not trust his allies,” Hassan said.
He added that the CPI, which once stood behind the slogan of “governance and protest” during the era era, has now become submissive under Pinarayi’s rule.
“It is time for CPI leaders like Binoy Viswam to reconsider. They should join the congress to resist brutality, attacks and repression that take place throughout the state,” Mr. Hassan said.
He also called the act of producing the leaders of the KSU in court in black masks for “gross violation of human rights” and claimed that Wadakkancherry sho Shajahan acted as “cpi (m) supporter”. He warned that Congress would carry out legal steps to ensure that officers like Mr. Shajahan face the consequences and stated that those who attacked the leader of the Congress for Youth Vs Sujith in Kunnamem must be released from service, not only suspended.
