
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu along with Home Minister V. Anitha and DGP Harish Kumar Gupta pay tributes to police martyrs on the occasion of Police Remembrance Day in Mangalagiri on Tuesday.
Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta on Tuesday paid tribute to police martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Addressing the Police Martyrs Memorial Day held in Amaravati in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Home Minister V. Anith and Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, the DGP said the nation bows in gratitude to the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice for peace and security.
“Police service is not just a profession, it is a sacred profession,” he said, stressing that the uniform stands for honor, duty and sacrifice.
Mr. Gupta said that peace and security are the basis of progress and added that every police officer silently bears personal hardships to ensure public safety. He noted that 192 policemen from across India, including six from Andhra Pradesh, had sacrificed their lives this year.
He lauded the state government and Mr. Naidu for their continuous support for the modernization of the police force and their welfare, even in the midst of major development efforts.
Referring to technology-based reforms, Mr. Gupta said the Andhra Pradesh Police has adopted AI-enabled analytics, drone surveillance and integrated digital policing systems to tackle modern challenges.
