In the shocking incident, a man appeared at the Puthkkad police station in Thrissur, who appeared on the Puthukkad police station on Sunday morning with a bag containing skeletal remains of two infants. Police arrested a partner of a man and his wife in connection with suspicion of infanticide and destruction of evidence.
The couple – Bhavin and Aneesh – met in 2020 through social media and soon began a relationship. Their first child was born in 2021 and the second in 2023.
The police suspect that the woman was responsible for the death of one of the two infants. The investigation is underway to determine the cause of the death of the other child.
According to a woman’s statement, the first child died during childbirth. However, the police said that the second child was struck shortly after birth to keep the delivery secret. The bodies of infants were buried in the backyard of their house.
The case came to light when Bhavin, who was no longer in a relationship with Aneesha, arrived at the police station soon on Sunday in a absorbed state and carried a bag. “He spoke discontinuous and carried a bag. During the inspection of the police, the police found skeletal remains of newborns,” said Thrissur countryside SP B. Krishna Kumar.
According to the police, youth also claimed that they had exhumed bones to preserve them for religious ceremonies.
Police suspicious Bavin kept the bones when the suspect of Aneesh’s loyalty after finding another phone and feared that she could marry someone else. This led to the tension between them, including one Sunday evening.
Aneee said that Bavin had handed over the remnants because she thought she would destroy the remains in the sea.
Mr. Krishna Kumar said that bones are considered to be infants according to the initial forensic analysis. DNA tests will be carried out to confirm parenthood. There is another detailed questioning of both accused.
