Extension of support for suspended IPS officers in Bengalur over the RCB StamPede, in which 11 people lost their lives, several top IPS officers from all over the country wrote the main Minister of Karnataka Siddarahaiah, who asked him to cancel the suspension and demand strict steps against those who went with celebrations.
An open letter signed by 30 officials, including former general directors, former CBI director, cabinet officials, former officials of the Central Intelligence Authority and the Central Armed Forces, described the suspension as a hasty decision.
The letter said that the leaders, including the police commissioner, were autumn boys. “There is a general impression that police officers were victims, while those whose rush, excessive Podhrad and unwillingness to stand up contributed to the tragedy managed to escape,” the letter said.
The letter, referring to the incident, is unfortunate and expresses condolences, said the RCB management insisted on hosting the program within a few hours of their victory, because their foreign players and some local players had travel plans that could not be changed.
The letter also stated that IPL is a commercial sports entertainer. “The franchises may be named after a city or state depending on the location of the franchise, but the team has not in any case be the city or state.
“Police officials reported in writing and otherwise the danger of accepting RCB/KSCA to organize functions within a few hours of the final match. They recommended the government and organizers to postpone the program until 8 June, and thus be carried out by appropriate appropriate arrangements with all the meetings.
It seems that the police have not been issued any written instructions that suppressed their objections. Meanwhile, the organizers invited their fans to participate in large numbers, offering free tickets and free cards.
In short, the expert council of police officers was not followed and the organizers continued to forward with measures, probably with the silent support of the government. The consequences of ignoring professional police advice and continuing with the celebrations are here for anyone to see, ”says the letter.
“In fact, the event should be accepted against those who have bulled the police and insisted on organizing the celebrations. Advanced costs should also be stored on profitable bodies that played with the lives of innocent fans without annoying the detailed measures needed for this occasion,” he said.
Another open letter of the Indian Police Foundation said that the suspension of five police officers before the completion of a detailed investigation caused serious concern throughout the country.
“The great public actions of this nature, especially if they are in such a short time, and without sufficient preparatory work, require coordinated efforts between many civic, administrative and political agencies. Isolate the police for repressive steps while other parties escape control, disrupt the reality of shared responsibilities. the future.
“We are respectful of the Karnataka government to restore the suspended officers until the end of the investigation, and to ensure that the investigation will be completed in a reasonable and trusted time frame. Disciplinary measures, if guaranteed, should imply from findings and not prevent them.”
