Police officer, daughter dies in road accident in Belagavi

A police chief and his daughter died on October 15 in a road accident at Sthavanidhi Ghat near Nippani in Karnataka’s Belagavi district.

Pundalik Hatti (50) and his daughter Nikhita Hatti (24) were on a motorcycle on the national highway. As he approached the speed breaker, Pundalik braked. The drive of the truck that was driving behind the bike was not enough to brake in time. The truck hit the bike. Pundalik and Nikhita fell off the bike in different directions. They suffered severe injuries and bled to death on the road, police said.

A case has been registered.
