The Pandjab Police said on Monday (May 19, 2025) that they had arrested two individuals for leakage of critical information related to Indian armed forces at Pakistani inter-regulatory intelligence (ISI).
Police Director (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav said those who were arrested were identified as Sukhpreet Singh, resident of the village of Adiyan in Gurdaspur, and Karanbir Singh, Chandal Chandal resident in Gurdaspur. Police teams also won three mobile phones and eight live cassettes from (.) 30 threw from their possession.
Mr. Yadav said Gurdaspur was thwarted by an attempt to threaten national security by detaining the two people involved in the leakage of sensitive military information related to the Sindoor operation, including the movement of soldiers and key strategic sites in Pandjab, Himacal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that a preliminary investigation confirmed that both accusations were in direct contact with ISI workers and handed over critical information on the Indian Armed Forces.
Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) Gurdaspur Aditya 15. May said that credible news inputs indicated that the suspects were involved in sharing classified details related to the ISI. The police behaved quickly and served suspicious supervision and detained them, he said.
He said that the forensic exploration of their mobile phones confirmed news inputs.
“During the investigation, it was also found that they had previously participated in drug smuggling activities that came into contact with ISI manipulators. They also underwent their financial transactions, including online and cash stores,” he said.
The company was registered at the Dorsangala police station under Section 3 of the Official Secrets Act, Section 152 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit (BNS) and Section 25 of the Weapons Act.
