The Shivamogg Lokayukta police launched a surprising visit to McGann Hospital on Monday and found medicines stored without proper records.
The team, led by the superintendent of the Police Manjunath Chowdhary and the inspector Rud after the KP, examined the hospital. The team found supplies of medicines held in the room without records. They asked about shares.
Gopinath, the auxiliary director of the pharmacy, did not give a satisfactory answer to the questions raised by the police. Shares maintained in the room did not bear the mandatory brand “No for sale” and the maximum retail price was printed on stocks.
The value of the shares was estimated at 3.5 lakh.
In communication with the media, Mr. Chowdhary said that officials gathered records concerning shares for further investigation.
