The district police in Kurnool led intensive and permanent campaigns to the Shakthi application and to WhatsApp, presented for women’s safety, schools and other places. They also sensitize students about “good touch, bad touch”.
Speaking of campaigns, the police leader Vičt Patel said on Thursday that Shakthi teams interact and encourage students to download and register in the application for their security and protection. “There is no need to go to the police station in an emergency. By downloading the application, you can dial 112 or press the SOS button to file a complaint and the police will respond immediately,” he said.
Women and girls should also save Shakthi WhatsApp number 7993485111 and file a complaint in desperate situations, he said. “Once the message has been sent or called to the Shakthi WhatsApp number, the command check room will be notified and the closest teams Shakthi will respond to the complaint. The WhatsApp number will work continuously,” he added.
