After her arrest, several social media handles called it “illegal” and claimed that the police were “selective” and “bias”. Many of them demanded her release and launched the Hashtag campaign “#releasesharmistha” and “Freesharmistha”.

The leader of the opposition of Suvend ADHIKARI was supported by Mrs. Panoli and stated that many companies were filed against several Trinamool Congress leaders.
