The Thiruvananthapuram Rural Police has intensified its investigation into the sexual assault of a woman at the Kattakada KSRTC bus station on Saturday (May 9, 2026).
According to police, the suspect, identified as ‘Bruce Lee’ Shibu, is suspected to have fled to Tamil Nadu.
The suspect had reportedly arrived in Kattakada to tread ganja. Based on the information, investigators expanded the investigation to include questioning people suspected of regularly buying contraband from him.
The incident took place at the bus station. The Kattakada police registered a case based on the statement of the survivor, a mentally challenged woman, recorded with the assistance of a psychiatrist.
Meanwhile, the KSRTC has launched an internal investigation into the alleged leak of CCTV footage of the depot attack.
