
The Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Police intensified the search for Ananthapuri Manicandan, a member of the District Congress Committee (DCC), who was on the run after his alleged involvement in the Kowdiar Land case.
Manicandan is one of the accused in the case of unlawful acquisition of land and assets that owns Dora Asariya Cripps, a resident of the United States, in Jawahar Nagar. The defendant, the seller, is suspected of dominating the fraudulent transfer of assets.
Police of the museum arrested two people, Merin Jacob, 27, Punnel, and Vasantha, 76, from Karakula, in the case. The gang reportedly created documents to register the land in the name Merino, who claimed to be Mrs. Cripps’s adopted daughter, and later sold them in about 1.5 crore in January. Vasantha’s mysterious similarity to Mrs. Cripps resulted in fraud.
The role of revenue officials
In addition to manicandan, another person, Chandrasenan, who allegedly bought the property, also participated in this case. This property was registered in the Subregistrar office in Sasthamangalam. The investigation team also examines the alleged role of revenue officials in this case.
The fraud came to light a few weeks ago when the property administrator tried to pay the real estate tax just to realize that he was transferred to someone else without his knowledge.
Police sources said that a manicandan whose predictive reason was rejected on Thursday on Thursday. A notice of the prospect was issued for him. Chandrasenan was awarded a predictive deposit that was cited by the absence of any cash transaction to prove the purchase. The investigation team will explore its bank data to find out the claim, the official said.
