Sharmila, the police inspector, the Naducauvera Police Station in the Thanjavur district, was moved to the waiting list after a woman who drank poison in front of the police station later died in the hospital.
According to the police, the deceased woman, Keerthig, 29, from the Naducauvera near Thanjavur, along with her older sister Menaka, 31, came to the police station on Tuesday evening and demand that their brother Dinesh, 32 years old.
Suddenly, both women consumed poison in front of the police station and were hurried to the Thanjavur Hospital Government Medical College Hospital, where Keerthiga died on Wednesday morning.
Given that family members and relatives of the deceased demanded an action against the police inspector of the woman because her action led to the death of Keerthiga, the district police Thanjavur moved the police inspector to the waiting list, the sources said.
