
The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing along with the Panjagutta Police arrested one alleged drug dealer and four others on Sunday, January 25 following specific information that led to the seizure of MDMA, hydroponic cannabis and mobile phones.
The main accused was 28-year-old Katangur Mahan Reddy, a driver from Biranguda. The other arrested persons were Mohammad Abdul Nabi alias Arshad, a catalog assistant at Amazon, Rupani Mukesh Babu alias Banni, an IT recruiter, Sriram Ravi Teja, a student and Bhupathi Sai Chaitanya alias Sunny.
According to Panjagut Assistant Commissioner of Police (AKP) P. Murali Krishna, MDMA weighing 10.5 grams, hydroponic cannabis weighing 7.5 grams and five mobile phones were seized from the accused.
ACP said some suppliers, transporters and consumers linked to the case are on the run. Special teams have been formed to trace them and search operations are underway.
A case has been registered at the Panjagutta police station under the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act and further investigation is underway.
