Women and representatives of various joint Amaravati Action Committees (JACS) submitted on Saturday (June 7, 2025) to the rural police station Mangalagiri at the rural police station in Mangalagiri, demanded a step against journalists and political analyst VVR Krishnam Raju for his debate on Sakshi TV.
They condemned the statement describing Amaravati as the “capital of prostitutes” and described it as an “outrageous insult” to women who said goodbye to their country and participated in the historical capital movement.
Meanwhile, Vice -Chairman of the Assembly Andr Pradesh K. Raghu Rama Krish Raju also filed a complaint on Amaravati and women Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Raghu Rama Krishn Raju condemned the reference to Amaravati as the “capital of the prostitute” and described it as “shameful insult to the dignity of women”.
He said that such remarks reflect not only distorted narration, but also serious violations of journalistic ethics and humanitarian values.
The Vice -President demanded that the cases be registered against Mr. Krishnam Raju and senior to journalists Komneni Srinivasa Rao within IPC 294, 354a, 500, 504, 505 (2) and 509.
The complainants, including leaders from Amaravati Mahil Jac, Dalit Jac and Ryth Jac, demand a public apology from Sakshi and strict legal steps.
They claimed a targeted campaign of the media supported by Yysrcp to defame Amaravati and disrupt its development. They accused the former main Minister Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy led by Yysrc and his supportive media of degrading women and evoking social tensions.
Akula Jaya Satya (women Jac), Vemuri Babu (Dalit Jac), T. Sambasiva, A. Ravi Kiran and others (Farmer JAC) and other leaders filed a complaint.
Loking condemns a statement
Meanwhile, IT and the throat of the Minister of Nara Loket said that such shameful comments reflect the moral bankruptcy of YSRCP.
“Amaravati is capital built on mothers victims. Anyone offending them has no place in our society,” he said.
Mr. Loket reaffirmed his obligation to welfare of women and economic authorization.
