
The Bengalur Municipal Police carried out ramps in several bars and restaurants in the western zone of the city and discovered numerous violations, including “provocative” women’s clothing and health violations, excise duty and other regulations, and said they quoted officials.
The air raids were carried out after the police commissioner Bengalur received details of illegal activities in some facilities, the report said.
Bars and restaurants are located under the jurisdiction of UPPARPET, Cottonpet, Kalasipalya, Cubbon Park and Ashoknagar a police station, where 11 special police teams were created to perform a probe.
What was the violation?
The police found that 19 bars and restaurants violated the regulations by hiring female workers dressed in “provocative” clothing that stood too close to the customer’s tables in a “rude” way. Other violations included the absence of determined women’s safety staff, poor cleanliness in the kitchen, lack of proper smoking space, and these places that work after the allowed hours.
Meanwhile, customers have found that COTPA violations (cigarettes and other tobacco products) were immediately fine. Reports of other legal measures against the owners of bars and restaurants were sent at the relevant police stations.
The police also found violations related to health and consumer departments. The relevant departments were informed of the violation and were asked to negotiate. Negotiation of these commercial entities will persist in the coming days. If they re -violate the regulations, their licenses are canceled, the report said.

The raids were led by C Vamsi Krishna, IPS, Common Police Commissioner, West Zone and with Girish, IPS, Deputy Police Commissioner, West Division, including officers and employees of central and western divisions within 11 special police teams.
