Police arrested four people, including three usual perpetrators from Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly ransom calling an urban entrepreneur, presenting as a gangster Lawrence Bishnoi last week.
The suspects were identified as Rafiq, entrepreneur Bengalur and AMITH, VANSH SACHDEV and Sheeshpal Singh, aka Monty, all of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.
8 July one of the suspects of UP calls entrepreneur Bengalur, who claimed to be Bishnoi, and threatened to carry his son and demanded Cr £ 1.
After the entrepreneur filed a complaint, the police created two teams and watched the complainant’s records. Police were able to trace a car that the suspects used in Bengalur. Further investigations revealed that the three of the suspects were out of UP and after calling they saved themselves in Delhi.
In the case of the investigator, the investigator stated that he had contacted the police in Delhi and detained the police. They were brought to Bengalur, while another team in the city arrested Rafiq.
The police said Rafiq and the complainant knew each other. Rafiq and the complainant were involved in an agreement on the sale of land and Rafiq strongly believed that the complainant earned more. This led to indignation, and Rafiq tried to recover the money and made him approach his UP’s friends, the police said.
“Rafiq told others that the victim was naive and would pay them if they were to threaten him. He promised to share a part of the cash money if they helped him,” Hindu officer said.
Rafiq also covered all the expenses of his collaborators who organized weapons and ammunition to make a plan.
The officer explained that the plan should first call and demand ransom. If this failed, they intended to continue with the kidnapping and planned to release the victim as soon as the ransom was paid.
Hakay Akshay Machhindra, a representative of the Police Commissioner (Central Division), said to the Hindu: “Prime suspect of Bengalur (Rafiq), had a continued cheating in Delh, where he made friends with other suspects during the trial”.
According to the police, the entire operation was performed in just 48 hours. All suspects are currently in relation to the police, because investigators still have to restore weapons organized for the plan.
