Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced that it will expand its digital and startup banking presence in Bengaluru to strengthen its commitment to digital growth and deeper engagement with emerging business ecosystems.
As part of this initiative, PNB plans to open digital branches in major technology parks across Bengaluru to cater to the evolving banking needs of professionals, corporates and digitally savvy customers, said Ashok Chandra, MD & CEO, during a visit to Bengaluru to review business performance and outline the bank’s strategic expansion plans for Karnataka.
To enhance access to credit for entrepreneurs and small businesses, PNB has enhanced its digital MSME loans. The Bank is also focusing on Prime Minister SVAnidhi Digital, Prime Minister Vishwakarma and Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
The bank has launched ‘Luxura’ l Credit Card, a premium credit card aimed at High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs). Indian women’s cricket team captain and PNB brand ambassador Harmanpreet Kaur is the face of this premium segment.
Reiterating the bank’s focus on women empowerment, Mr. Chandra noted that 30% of PNB’s workforce is women. The bank has introduced special initiatives for women customers, including a cancer cover of ₹10,000 for women savings account holders and priority loan support for self-help groups (SHGs) and women entrepreneurs.
PNB operates 155 branches in 31 districts in Karnataka.
