The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) on Thursday submitted a petition to the Salem City Police Commissioner’s office demanding that permission be denied for the general council and executive committee meeting planned by PMK founder S Ramadoss faction in Salem on December 29.
PMK workers, led by district secretary Salem K. Saravanan, submitted a petition that only party president Anbumani Ramadoss should preside over the general council and executive committee meetings. It argued that the Madras and Delhi High Courts had made it clear that Dr. Anbumani is the president of PMK. So none other than Dr. Anbumani could not call a meeting of either the General Council or the Executive Committee. The police should also take action against those using the PMK name and flag, Mr. Saravanan said in the petition.
