Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) President Anbumani Ramadoss on Monday (March 30, 2026) announced that his wife and president of Pasumai Thayagam, an NGO, Sowmiya Anbumani, will contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections from the party’s stronghold, Dharmapuri constituency.
Mr. Anbumani released the complete list of candidates for 15 constituencies.
Party treasurer M. Thilagabama will be pitted against actor Vijay and DMK’s RD Sekar in the Perambur constituency.
In Kattumannarkovil, where the president of VCK Thol. Thirumavalavan decided to contest, PMK gave ticket to Anbumani Cholan.
In Vridhachalam, Tamilarasi Adhimoolam was pitted against DMDK general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant.
Supporter Dr. Anbumani in Salem, M. Karthi, was made into the Salem West constituency. In the party’s bastion, Pennagaram, the party has given a ticket to Padi V. Selvam, who is likely to contest against GKM Tamil Kumaran, son of current MLA and former PMK president, GK Mani.
PMK Speaker K. Balu got another chance to contest the assembly elections but he was shifted from his Jayamkondan constituency to Thirupporur constituency where there will be a direct fight between PMK and VCK.
K. Vaithee was cast in Jayamkondan instead. Mettur MLA S. Sadasivam will contest from Salem North constituency this time.
In Vikravandi, Sholingar, Mayiladuthurai and Uthiramerur Dr. Anbumani fielded C. Sivakumar – who was shifted from Mailam – K. Saravanan, Sithamalli K. Pazhanichamy and P. Mahesh Kumar.
AP Cheziyan will compete in Rishivandhiyam.
