PM Modi will virtually inaugurate the upgraded Hi-Tech City railway station on July 17

The Hi-Tech City railway station, which has undergone a major renovation at a cost of ₹ 26 crore, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing on Friday.

The modernized station includes a 12-metre-wide footbridge, additional lifts and escalators, improved signage and several other passenger facilities. They are among the 40 railway stations being redeveloped in Telangana under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) at a total cost of over ₹ 2,000 crore, South Central Railway (SCR) PRO A. Sridhar told a press conference on Wednesday.

Hi-Tech City suburban railway station falls under Secunderabad division on Lingampalli-Secunderabad route. Around 62 MMTS services operate through the station connecting passengers to Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Umdanagar, Falaknuma, Medchal and Ghatkesar. The station handles an average of about 3,000 passengers per day.

As part of the redevelopment programme, the station was equipped with a new entrance portico, improved circulation area, additional platform, modern toilets, waiting room and improved facilities for disabled people, SCR said in a press release.
